to that end, what's up with the ** anyway? afraid your mom might see it?
beyond that...
there's music in those videos, right? then maybe those videos deserve
talking about, as they can possibly show us the difference between how
we are perceiving the music and how the artist or the director is
perceiving the music. that seems pretty valid to me.
cover art. again, how does the artist (or the designers republic =)
perceive the piece of music. the cover is the listener's first idea of
what they are going to be listening to. this goes for idm, death metal,
rap, country, punk, what have you. i totally appreciate cover art,
because in a sense, it *is* unnecessary. it's a bonus for the buyer.
something pretty to look at while listening to the music. how does that
artwork influence how you hear the music. talk away.
the rest of your little list. well, why not? it's more fun than just
hearing the album. i like to know a little bit about the people who make
the music. better to hear that rich has a tank than "he sat in his
bedroom and put together another five tracks today." are you saying that
there should be no interviews as well? because we might learn something
about the artist? sorry... i'd like to hear about plaid's new car...
what's the scoop?
if people want to go ahead and create their own little list, great. good
luck finding new information. maybe that won't matter as long as you can
all sit around and agree with each other.
i for one truly appreciate this list. without it, i wouldn't know about
mu-ziq, squarepusher, ninja tune, rephlex, etc...
